Stranded crew among guests
FAMILIES celebrated a multicultural arts festival at a children's centre to the sounds of samba and the didgeridoo.
Trelander and St Clements Children's Centre at Truro hosted more than 100 people from across the world who shared food, listened to music and poetry and joined dance lessons.
It was organised by Pentreath, a mental health charity, which said the Family Winter Festival offered "cross-cultural communication" between people whose home countries were as far away as Nigeria, China and Nepal.
Visitors brought food ranging from Thai curry to Polish cheesecake and Russian chocolates. They included two Indonesian men stuck in Penzance since the engine on their research vessel failed last September; a Pentreath worker met them and invited them along.
