NEWQUAY firefighters were called to Trenance Park on Thursday afternoon to rescue a child stuck in a tree.

The crew arrived at 3pm and used crash rescue cutting equipment to release the girl, who was trapped in the branches. A spokeswoman from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "The child had no serious injuries and was left in the care of a parent."
