Students prove they're the business
TORPOINT Community College pupils put on their business hats last week as part of a social enterprise event.
Year 10 students stepped into the role of PR and marketing consultants for the day, creating a powerful presentation about a designated charity to raise its profile.

Students were given the inspiration for their task by David Glover and Alan Duncan from ShelterBox, Janet Jenkins and John Biddick of Transplant Sports UK, Norman Proctor of The Rotary Jaipur Limb Project, Peter Fordham from Wateraid and Sarah Nuttall-Worsley and Sandra Humphreys of Jeremiah's Journey, a local charity helping children with bereavement.
Teams were also asked to come up with a lucrative fund- raising idea again on behalf of their charity.
PR and marketing expert Jan Young from the University College Plymouth St Mark and St John judged the event with the team representing Transplant Sports UK being announced as the winners. The team "Second Life" consisted of Sarah Wilson, John Rogers, Carly Ryan, Bethany Redding and Flora Tye.
