Sue Bradbury PR firm takes on graduate Georgia Clancy.
A SCHEME to encourage bright graduates to stay in Cornwall has worked well for a public relations firm.
Georgia Clancy, from the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) Scheme, has joined the Sue Bradbury PR team as a social media executive.
Georgia, who has a first class degree in politics and international studies from Exeter University, initially started working with the company in early January for two days a week as part of UCP's Gateway scheme.
Her contribution proved so valuable that now she is working full-time for the business, honing her expertise across the full range of social media platforms to the benefit of clients.

Sue Bradbury, managaing director, said: "Social media is an increasingly important part of what we do so we felt we needed someone who could focus on that aspect of our communication activities. Georgia has also got good experience in website development and search engine optimisation – skills that are equally valuable in our technology-driven world."
The PR firm's clients include South Crofty Mine, a range of tourism and hospitality providers, Miller & Son estate agents and Duchy College, Stoke Climsland.
There are currently five employees and a number of expert associates covering design, web and app development, print and video production.
"Like it or loathe it, the internet is a key communication tool that businesses simply cannot afford to ignore," said Mrs Bradbury.
"We are now offering a lot more training in all aspects of PR for companies who want to do it themselves as well as providing our retained clients with a fully comprehensive PR and marketing service."
UCP is a Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) programme, managed by Cornwall College, which receives ESF (European Social Fund) Convergence investment and Mrs Bradbury added: "I cannot praise the UCP scheme highly enough. It's an excellent way of recruiting bright, motivated graduates who can help move a business forward.
"Georgia is already proving a real asset."
