Super sub Seb sees Bodmin through in league cup
Bodmin Town 3 Camelford 1
Super sub Seb Broomfield scored an 82nd minute goal to finally calm the nerves of holders Bodmin as they made hard work of seeing off Camelford in the Throgmorton Cup tie at Priory Park on Friday night.
Broomfield rose to head in a pinpoint cross from Jonny Ludlam, ending the Camels’ hopes after an impressive second half fightback.
Bodmin had made the perfect start to the second round clash with Lee Doel putting them ahead in the fifth minute following good work by Sam Matthews and Chris Wright.

And Wright made it 2-0 in the 26th minute with a wonder goal, hitting the ball on the run and on the volley from 20 yards and giving Camels keeper Josh Colwill no chance as the ball crashed into the far corner.
Ryan Pooley, who had been denied by the woodwork in the 17th minute, made no mistake after 57 minutes as he fired home a spectacular direct free kick from 25 yards to get Camelford back into the tie.
And the visitors came desperately close to equalising a minute later when Josh Insley was presented with an excellent chance ten yards out but his weak shot was saved by Bodmin keeper Kevin Miller.
The game swung from end to end in the final 20 minutes but it was to be Broomfield’s header which sealed Bodmin’s progress into the third round.
