Team building help bond new students
Very occasionally you take part in things which will stay with you forever, our visit to Tomperrow Scout Camp allowed us as International Baccalaureate students to break down that scary 'first day at college' experience.
In true IB fashion the day kicked off with the famous "three-legged river run", in turn everyone competed for a space in the hall of fame for the top spot with the fattest time. As a team we thrashed previous records, among the many grins, serious competitive faces and the few grazed knees we all loved the challenge.

As newly-acquainted friends we all quickly got stuck into the day's quirky team building tasks, such as building the biggest tower with just 12 strands of spaghetti, sticky tape and a marshmallow, a blind folded obstacle course resulting in tears of laughter due to the not-so-good directions. Creating nature-friendly boats to race down the stream, not forgetting the brain-puzzling maths problems and the "enchanted river" which involved manoeuvring a series of logs to pass across the imaginative landscape tested our initiative.
Overall, I thought the day was incredible, exciting and made me feel more at ease for starting college. This opinion I know is shared throughout the group.
