Teenagers are found after major search in Bideford
Two teenagers who sparked a major search after they failed to turn up and meet their parents have been found safe and well.
Jack Simpson, from Shebbear, near Torrington, and Gwennan Jones, from Penarth in South Glamorgan, were reported as being last seen on Saturday afternoon in Bideford town centre and failed to meet their parents as expected at 6pm.
Police said yesterday that the two youngsters had been located in the Bideford area and were being reunited with their families.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The teenagers were located safe and well in the Bideford area and are being returned to their families."
The disappearance of the teenagers was described as "very out of character" by their families.
Concerns about their safety led extensive searches of Bideford and surrounding coastal areas by coastguard and police units, along with the police helicopter.
The pair had last been seen at the Asda supermarket in Atlantic Village, near Bideford, at 6pm on Saturday.
