FOOD AND drink producers from St Ives and across West Cornwall are set to benefit from the launch of the annual Think Local Buy Local TR26 campaign from award-winning St Ives restaurant Onshore.

Onshore has re-launched its TR26 campaign to encourage more people to get behind local food and drink suppliers over the quieter winter months.

Launched for the first time last year, Onshore owner David Graham said the popularity of the campaign was overwhelming with hundreds of people taking advantage of the benefits offered by the restaurant'sTR26 card.

"We really had no idea when we launched the TR26 campaign last year that it would be the success it was. The campaign is designed to support local food and drink producers out of the main holiday season by receiving a 15 per cent discount every time they use the card in Onshore to purchase hot drinks and food.

"As a business we are extremely proud of the fact that we work with some fantastic local food and drink producers and we think it is vitally important that even in the winter months that we can do what we can to support them.

"The TR26 campaign enables local people and residents to know they are helping support the work of local food and drink producers and be rewarded for it at the same time – whether they pop in for a coffee or enjoy a three-course meal by receiving a 15 per cent discount off their bill," said David.

As part of the campaign, onshore has mailed out cards to all small hotels, B&Bs and guest houses to hand out to their visitors to use and is also making the cards available to anyone calling into onshore who asks for one.

St Ives fish merchant Matthew Stevens welcomed the re-launch of the TR26 campaign.

"Despite the fact that St Ives has become a year-round destination, it does become quieter in the winter months so campaigns such as the Think Local Buy Local TR26 cards are a fantastic idea to encourage people to support local suppliers, and enjoy the wonderful ingredients that are available, such as the seafood, in Cornwall at this time of the year," he said.

To get one of the TR26 cards for yourself call into Onshore on the Wharf, St Ives, or call 01736 796000.
