With branches in Bath, Bristol and Plymouth, the new Truro Lounge will be the company’s first foray into Cornwall, and will create up 30 new jobs.
Loungers property manager Raj Manek said:“We’ve been looking to open in Truro for some time but have been waiting for the right premises.
“Securing the Truro site opens up the possibility of expanding even further South West into other Cornish towns.’’
He added they have exciting plans for the building which will literally provide customers with a breath of fresh air in the centre of the city.
“There’s a lot of work to do on the building including plans to lower the roof at the rear of the first floor to create a 850 ft open terrace.
“Though we are a national brand, our refurbishments don’t follow a template. The Truro ‘Lounge’ will have its own individual look and feel that reflects its location and provides a chilled out stylish atmosphere for people to come and spend time,’’ he said.
