UPDATED: Two arrested after Marazion shop raid
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of robbery following an alleged raid on a shop in Marazion.
Thirty officers were called in to search the area following the incident at a store on Trevenner Lane at around 4.30pm.
A man was said to have entered the shop, pulled out a large knife on a member of staff at the till and then fled the store.
Armed response units and the search and rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose immediately launched a full search of the area and a man and woman were arrested near Long Rock beach two hours later.
A police spokesman said: "This incident involved around 30 officers including dog units, armed response vehicles and assistance from search and rescue colleagues at RNAS Culdrose.
"We would like to thank the public for all their help in assisting officers throughout the afternoon – it really does make a difference."
The two people will be taken to Camborne police station where they will be interviewed by police.
