Thomas takes over as captain
ST JUST have announced the changing of their first and second team captains at the club's annual meeting.
Club secretary Chris Goninan confirmed that Gary Thomas will replace Mark George as first team captain for the 2012 season, with Neil Curnow his vice-captain.
Meanwhile in the seconds, Neil Stephens is stepping down from his role as captain due to work commitments with Mark Harvey replacing him.
Chris said: "Gary is a great player and has a tremendous amount of cricketing knowledge. He'll do a brilliant job."
All the club officers were re-elected, but St Just were waiting for last week's Cornwall Cricket League annual meeting before making any new signings.
Pleased
One of the new rules passed at the annual meeting was to allow both professional and seasonal overseas players to play for the same side, which is something Goninan is pleased about.
He said: "I used to be against it, but now I think it's nice to open it up for clubs to do whatever they want and spend on whoever they like."
Elsewhere, in the Jolly's Drinks Premier Division, Paul refused to confirm or deny the speculation surrounding the future of last season's captain Justin Stephens.
It is rumoured that the Cornwall all-rounder is on the verge of a move to Falmouth, but as of yet, there is nothing official.
The club's annual meeting saw Kelvin Snell named the new first team captain, with Stephens and Matt O'Leary vice captains.
