Town company comes to aid of world-famous Brooklands Museum
A REDRUTH-based fire and flood restoration company has helped out a world-famous museum flooded on Boxing Day.
Richfords Fire and Flood was called to the Brooklands Museum in Surrey which was under 1ft of water after the River Wey burst its bank.
Insurers called on the company to start dewatering the museum buildings and then dry them out. The flooding occured just ahead of a rally at the venue when 1,000 vehicles and 5,000 visitors were expected on New Year's Day.
The museum buildings are next to the racetrack where Sir Malcolm Campbell built many of his Bluebirds which set land speed records.
