Town's former deputy mayor has died
A FORMER deputy mayor of Bodmin has died following a long illness.
Mervyn Hancock, who had been in residential care during the past few years, died on the weekend.
Mr Hancock joined the town council in June 1999 and went on to serve as deputy mayor in 2005.
Current town mayor Ken Stubbs, said: "Mervyn was a great supporter of St Lawrence's Church and was the chairman of the trustees for a number of years.

"Mervyn left the council in 2011 following cessation of eligibility by reason of non-attendance, which followed a fall and then a period of ill health.''
Mr Hancock had earlier worked at St Lawrence's Hospital for many years.
