Camilla Comeau, whose husband Paul and two sons, Ben and Toby, are all playing on the day, said: “All over Cornwall people must be playing Bach at the moment – if you know a pianist, go and stand outside their window; chances are you’ll hear the music of heaven.”
The event is to raise money for the purchase of a concert grand piano, more suited to the size of Truro Cathedral, to enable performances of large-scale piano concertos to be better heard. The present little piano will be put to good use in the cathedral’s crypt, where it will replace the existing worn-out instrument used for choristers’ practices.
Entry to the event is completely free and the cathedral will be open for anybody to come in and enjoy the music.
The performance starts at 10am and continues throughout Friday, finishing around 4.30pm.
