Truro City complete double swoop for Pugh and Watson
Truro City have completed the signing of former defender Arran Pugh, with striker Ben Watson also joining the club from Dorchester Town.
Pugh returns to Treyew Road after leaving the club to join the Magpies last year and he goes into the squad for this afternoon’s Calor Southern League home game against St Albans City (3pm).
Watson, who started his career as a trainee at Brighton & Hove Albion, is also expected to be included in Steve Massey’s squad as Truro look to turn around their fortunes, which has seen them lose their last three games, culminating in last Saturday’s FA Cup exit at Brislington.
Speaking on Truro City’s official website (www.trurocityfc.net) yesterday, Truro chairman Peter Masters paid tribute to boss Massey after what has been a difficult few weeks for the club.

He said: “We are able to make these signings because Steve has been prudent with the expenditure preseason, keeping to the plan and more importantly the budget and not gambled on uncertain income from say FA cup runs.
“I would be first to admit that I would like to have seen Truro City further up the league at this point but given our current circumstances I am not going to beat myself up over it as the season is still young and we are still within budget. However, if needs necessitates further signings will be made.”
