Truro City game against Weymouth postponed after heavy rain
Truro City’s scheduled New Year’s Day home Calor League premier division game against Weymouth has fallen victim to the weather and has been postponed following a referee’s inspection.
The game had been eagerly anticipated, as it would have marked the return to Treyew Road of former City favourites Stewart Yetton, Scott Walker, Danny Clay and Barry McConnell.
It is now likely to be played as an evening game sometime in the new year.
Club chairman Pete Masters said: “The weather has not been kind to us over the Christmas period. We were fortunate to play the Bashley game at home on the 28th, thanks to the excellent work by Tich and his assistants but it took its toll on the pitch.

“With no respite from the severe weather conditions, regretfully we now have no alternative but to postpone tomorrow’s game against Weymouth.
“We know the team will be disappointed as they were looking forward to the challenge and we are aware that some of our supporters wanted to catch up with old friends.
“There will be another day with details of the new fixture date being announced shortly. We now prepare for this Saturday’s game away to Burnham and build on the 5-0 win against Bashley.”
