Truro School former student George Gray on trial for rape
A student at one of Cornwall's top private schools raped a 17-year-old girl in a bathroom at a "lavish" party near Truro, a court was told this morning.
George Gray, 19, from Taunton in Somerset, allegedly raped the girl at a birthday party held at a house in an exclusive area near Truro.

Mr Sapiecha told the court: "It was quite a lavish affair - there was a marquee and entertainment in the form of singers and dancers."
The court heard that Gray and the victim, who knew one another, went alone downstairs to a swimming pool and gym area.
Mr Sapiecha said Gray then "guided" the alleged victim into a bathroom, locked the door and raped the girl.
Mr Sapiecha told the jury: "She told him to stop. She was trying to call out but he put his hand on her mouth to stop her doing that."
The court heard that the alleged victim was seen by police that night and Gray was arrested on his way to a friend's house having left the party.
Mr Sapiecha said: "The prosecution say George Gray was clearly getting drunker and drunker and was a pest and misbehaving. His inhibitions were eroded by alcohol.
"He wasn't interested when the victim said she didn't want sexual intercourse. While she agreed to go downstairs it was not an agreement to have sexual intercourse. He didn't care."
The trial continues.
