Truro St Piran's Day parade organisers call for volunteers
Organisers of this year's St Piran's Day parade in Truro are looking for more people to get involved so they can build on the success of 2012's celebrations.
Truro's Pirantide event last March was one of the biggest and most vibrant to date, with more people than ever marking the holy day of Cornwall's favourite saint.

Members of local societies and clubs joined children from local schools in processing through the streets of the city. The parade culminated in a celebration of Cornish culture outside the cathedral. Even shops in the city centre joined in the festivities by decorating their windows with a Cornish theme.
This year the parade's organisers would like to build on the momentum by encouraging even more people to get involved.

Parade co-ordinator Elizabeth Stewart said: "We'd like to increase community engagement in the parade and give the people of Truro a greater sense of ownership of the event. We're looking for people to take part in the parade itself, people to man traffic signs and help steward the participants and people to assist in organising specific aspects of the parade in future years."
The 2013 Truro St Piran's Day parade will take place on Tuesday March 5, leaving the Waterfall Gardens off St George's Road at 1.15pm and finishing at High Cross with performances by local schools.
Anyone who would like to get involved in any aspect of the parade should email stpiransdaytruro@gmail.com
