Truro bridal shop wins award for best bridal outfitter in Cornwall and Devon

A TRURO bridal shop has become the best bridal outfitter in Cornwall and Devon after winning a regional award.

County Cream Bridal House made it into the finals of the Westcountry Wedding Awards, organised by wedding planner Wedding Matters, following a stream of votes from its customers.

The shop was awarded the title of Best Bridal Outfitter at a ceremony on February 28 at Crownhill Fort in Plymouth, beating four other finalists from Cornwall and Devon.

County Cream owner, Elaine Rawlings, said: "This is fantastic. We were happy enough to get into the finals, which we thought was a big achievement, and decided to just enjoy the evening, but when we heard our name called out I was just over the moon."

Mrs Rawlings asked more than 60 of her customers to vote for the shop. She said: "The award is voted for by our brides to get to the finals which means so much to us."

Louise Christiaans, one of the County Cream customers who voted for the business in the competition, said: "Elaine was extremely professional and helpful at all times – even answering e-mails on a Sunday when I would not have expected a reply. Working in customer service myself I have very high expectations, which Elaine surpassed.

"I live in Kent, one of my bridesmaids lives in Liverpool, one in Kent and two in Cornwall, so it was a nightmare for fittings. It was also done on a very tight timescale but absolutely nothing was too much hassle for them."
