Truro hair salon to close after half a century in business
A HAIR salon that has been running for almost half a century will close its doors for the last time on Saturday.
Roger’s Hair Salon on Fore Street in Chacewater will close after 48 years of successful business.
Run by husband and wife team Roger and Ruth Thomas, who thanked all of their customers and are looking forward to retiring.
Roger, 67, opened the shop when he was 19-years-old and has loved the job ever since.

He said: “Business has been very good recently. We still have customers who are coming in right from the start when the salon was first opened.
“I remember a time when Cornwall was at the forefront of the hair salon business. The Hairdressing Foundation was based down here and now it’s moved to Devon.
“But we have always had great support from the local community.
“I think the shop is going to be turned into offices, but at least it will not be an empty unit.”
