Truro mens' mammoth golf marathon raises £1,200 for Sparks charity
A TRIO has raised over £1,200 for charity by teeing off on a mammoth golf marathon.
Jonny Edwards, Pete Edwards and Michael Stuart, from Truro, played 100 holes of gold in around 14 hours on Friday August 9 at Cape Cornwall Golf Club.
It was all to raise cash for Sparks, a charity set up to fund life-saving research for young children.
Jonny said: “We had an amazing day. Obviously we all had our moments of wanting to pack up and go home, however, we kept going and managed to complete what we set out to do.

“We knew that playing 100 holes would be tough and it did prove to be extremely challenging.
“Thankfully the weather was kind to us and the weeks of practise leading up to the day helped a great deal too.
“We had lots of people watching throughout the day and plenty of words of encouragement throughout which obviously helped us. Also, the course itself was in a fantastic condition and it was a pleasure to play there.”
