Truro orthodontist makes award-winning smile
An orthodontist from Truro has won an award for transforming a patient’s smile.
Jeremy Peak was named runner-up in the British Orthodontic Society’s against the odds competition after being nominated by patient Darren Jose.
Nominations are made by orthodontic patients whose treatment has had a profoundly positive impact on their confidence and general quality of life.
Mr Jose, 46, said: “I’ve always thought that braces were for young people and being over 40, I’d missed my chance to have a smile to be confident about. Having met Jeremy I can’t explain how relieved I was to learn that it wasn’t too late to turn my teeth around.
“Jeremy took the time to explain the process and what to expect along the way. The results that he’s achieved are truly phenomenal and I can’t thank him enough for his work and support. You wouldn’t think that having straighter teeth would have such an impact on your self-esteem but I was suddenly more confident and outgoing.”
Mr Jose nominated Mr Peak for the work carried out at the River Practice Specialist Centre in Truro,
Mr Peak said: “To be able to really make a difference to someone’s quality of life is one of the great privileges of our profession.”
