County Homesearch, which was founded in Truro in 1988, has been bought by Dwellworks, a similar company based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
Both companies find properties for corporate clients. County Homesearch also finds houses for private clients.
While the corporate side of the business will be rebranded to Dwellworks by the end of the year, the private home-finding side of the business will remain under the County Homesearch brand.

County Homesearch founder, Jonathan Haward, said: "This means that our UK base is staying firmly in Cornwall."
Mr Haward will remain with the company as a strategic consultant at the Truro office, along with ten other staff.
He will assist the new owner with its expansion plans for the private client division.
Mr Haward said that the two companies were united by a "commonality in service standards and expectations" after both firms attained the same internationally recognised industry standard kite marks.
He added: "We started talking to them and realised that there were a number of synergies.
"This is a perfect match – both Dwellworks and County Homesearch International are recognised on each side of the Atlantic for service excellence.
"The acquisition in the UK provides a wonderful opportunity for Dwellworks to expand its destination services into the European markets and for the private client offering of County Homesearch International to expand and follow suit."
County Homesearch International managing director, Andrew Scott, will remain with the Dwellworks organisation as a full-time associate in an operational and account management role.
