She also resisted PC Pearce and PC Filkin in the execution of their duties and used threatening language during the incident.
Starling’s solicitor, Deborah Von Kohler, said: “It’s a day Miss Starling won’t forget and a day which she isn’t proud of.”
The court heard that Starling struggles with alcoholism and is currently on an alcohol treatment program.
Mrs Von Kohler added: “A very tragic thing has happened to Tracy Starling in that she has lost her younger brother and, I don’t think Tracy will mind me saying, it was due to alcohol.”
“I would say that Miss Starling has had a huge wake-up call with the loss of her brother.
“She genuinely wishes to get over her problem.”
Starling was given a 16 week sentence suspended for 12 months for assault charges.
She was also given a two week sentence suspended for 12 months for theft and resisting a constable in the execution of his duties.
Both sentences will run concurrently.
