A PENZANCE woman claims she saw a UFO in the fine weather late on Monday evening.

Wendy Jackson, who lives at Penmeere Place on the Treneere estate, was visiting a sick neighbour at 10.55pm when she says she was distracted by a 'bright orange light'.

“It was so bright it caught my eye,” said Miss Jackson. “It was shaped like a cigar and seemed to be hovering just above the houses.

“It was a bit eerie to say the least. There was no sound and it hovered for about five or six minutes, moving in an easterly direction before it suddenly disappeared.”

“Returning home along Penare Tce, at about 11.23 pm approx., 15th July, 2009, I looked northwards and saw travelling in what seemed a southerly/southeasterly direction, a pair of lights, both white/yellow (I think), the first smaller than the second as here: X x
My first judgment was that it must be a glider since, whatever the craft, it made no noise whatsoever and seemed to be travelling without a variation in speed.
As they passed overhead, the small light at the front swung down vertically below the other and then within a few seconds, they both disappeared together mysteriously, though the sky seemed fairly clear. Could this be a meteorological balloon? I have no idea of the nature or appearance of such. They would have to bear lights if this is the explanation for the lights. This sighting seems similar to the above comment by Adey.”

“I have seen a number of these bright orange lights over the past 6 months or so. They all seem to do the same. To low to be a star, to low to be a satellite, to bright to be a satellitte and also too big a satellite. No wing lights like a plane or helicopter. Does not seem to keep a straight flight path. And very weirdly no engine noise. When you see one it is like a orange flood light and it comes over at a steady speed and then it more often than not will disappear / fade out in an upwards direction. Even if there is no cloud cover. I have seen a few other unexplainable objects - but these are seeming to be the keeping of them at the minute.”

“I have just sent an email to UFOINFO.COM as both myself and my wife have seen very similar things and didnt know who to tell.
It was almost 23.00 hours and in the sky was these 2 orange lights.
Very much like a distant street lamp (orange in colour), we wathed them for several seconds before they seemed to fade out into the sky.
I have seen a lot of things in the sky at night but these were totaly different. No sound, moving slowly upwards, dying out with no trace and unusual in colour.”

“I have a photograph taken on my mobile phone of a 'Boomerang Looking' craft taken on 30/05/2008. It was spotted by many on the ground which caused me to look up; it appeared to be hovering motionless above Mounts Bay at 1745 Hrs and at the same time frame a smaller black disc descended away from the craft. Both made no sound and within minutes, incoming clouds moving in from the east obscured the larger craft.”

“I saw the exact same sighting at approx 11.45pm on Friday 4th July 2008. My Husband and his work colleague also saw it at the same time as myself. There appears to be nothing in the local papers or news that I know of and I am sure we cannot have been the only ones to see this. Bright orange lights quietly gliding across the sky. Very eerie as they seemed to be just a couple of hundred feet up in the air. I took a photograph to capture this very strange sighting! I would really like to know if anyone else saw them too!!”
