Performed by The Paper Cinema, the piece is due to be staged at The Tolman Centre, Constantine near Falmouth, on Friday, October 26. The show is being held two weeks in advance of the main festival which goes ahead at the Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay from November 8-11.

Homer's tale is about a man's journey through the high seas with supernatural forces prevailing over his quest to reach home.

Tiffany Holmes, festival director, said: "We're really excited to be able to bring this special theatre production to Cornwall, which uniquely combines live performance with animation.

"Our aim is to provide local audiences with the opportunity to see a wide variety of film related content, that wouldn't otherwise get shown in Cornwall, to provide greater choice and promote film culture.

"With innovative and off the beaten track screenings such as The Odyssey we are certainly hitting that remit."

An array of UK premieres, short film programmes, workshops and parties will be held during the festival. For more information about the event or The Odyssey screening go to www.cornwallfilmfestival.com For tickets to The Odyssey call The Tolman Centre on 01326 341353.
