Unison calling for an end to wage freeze
Unison has written to every councillor in Devon and Cornwall calling for an end to a pay freeze affecting council workers. The union said high inflation, coupled with a three-year wage freeze, means that since 2009, council workers' pay has fallen by 13% and will slide by a further 2% by April. It has demand change in a letter written to every all councillors in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
