VIDEO: Saltash singer Myles Evans appears on TV talent show The Voice
A trainee lawyer from Saltash has stormed through to the second round of the BBC One talent show The Voice.
Following his blind audition on the prime time TV show last night, Myles Evans was snatched up by judge and fellow Cornishman Ricky Wilson, frontman of the Kaiser Chiefs.
The 26-year-old, who had never sung in public before, impressed the judges with his acoustic version of High Hopes.
The former Saltash.net student said his sister, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment, persuaded him to enter the competition.

On his profile on The Voice’s website, he wrote: “My mum and dad are supportive in everything that I do and are happy that I decided to pursue a career as a lawyer. My sister entered me into the competition because she just wanted someone to tell me I could sing, and now I'm here.
“Like anything in life, I just think I have to go for it and see how far I can take this fantastic opportunity.”
