VIDEO: Sennen lifeboat rescues sick and unwell lone yachtsman
THE Sennen lifeboat went to the aid of an exhausted and unwell solo sailor yesterday afternoon.
City of London III was launched in a northwesterly wind force 4-5 with a moderate sea at midday to help a single-handed yachtsman seven miles northwest of Sennen Cove.
A spokesman for the lifeboat said: “Two crew were transferred onto the 43ft yacht to assist the skipper, who was extremely tired and really not very well.
“The yacht had been at sea for around a month – her sails were blown out and she looked a sorry sight.”
