VIDEO: St Ives Feast Day video shows battle for silver ball
The three hours of St Ives Feast day morning, including the battle for the silver ball, have been captured in this almost eight minute video.
The video, shot by Tony Mason, depicts the action from the town's showpiece day last week starting with a procession to bless the Silver Ball at Venton Ia Well involving Year 5 and 6 pupils from St Uny school.

It includes the moment young people compete to catch the Silver Ball after it is thrown on to a beach beside St Ives Harbour by Town Mayor Ron Tulley. The contest is one of many events peculiar to the feast, others include the throwing pennies from the balcony of the town hall and the passing of oranges to children during the parade.
The day also saw a meeting of the hunt and fundraising coffee morning for the Friends of the Edward Hain Memorial Hospital.
