VIDEO: Truro business dances for breast cancer charity
Employees at a Truro based business spent all of yesterday raising money for charity to mark the end of their colleague’s battle against breast cancer.
ARCOL Resistors on the Threemilestone industrial estate entered in to the spirit of the Breast Cancer Campaign’s Wear it Pink Day with a surprise fancy dress and fitness hour for their colleague and friend Zara Mildren.
Mrs Mildren completed her chemotherapy and radiology treatment for breast cancer in August.
Despite suffering from the effects of her treatment, the purchasing coordinator from Truro continued to work throughout her illness.

Mrs Mildren said: “Everybody has put lots of effort and lots of time and given me lots of support when I needed it
“The support made all the difference, it really did. If I couldn’t cope they were so understanding. I just did what I could.”
To mark Breast Cancer Campaign’s Wear it Pink Day Mrs Mildren originally planned to hold a low key cake sale.
But upon arriving at work she was shocked to see her colleagues dressed from head to toe in pink clothing.
“I had no idea about anything. When I walked in yesterday morning and saw them it was something else”, said Mrs Mildren.
The surprises didn’t end there, as Mrs Mildren and the 40 strong workforce joined in with a fitness hour in one of the company’s warehouses led by instructors from Truro gym, TR1 Fitness.
So far ARCOL Resistors have raised over £500 for the Breast Cancer Campaign and they will continue to hold fundraising events for the charity throughout the rest of the year.
