VIDEO: Is this the biggest Christmas lights display in Cornwall?
A village near Truro could be home to the biggest Christmas lights display in Cornwall.
Roger Clifford has set up the incredible display that covers his own house and encompasses the houses of two neighbours in Feock.
Mr Clifford, 65, and his son Ryan, 20, started work on the flashing festive spectacle in September.
“I started doing it to brighten the place up when Ryan was a baby 19 years ago and it’s just grown from that,” said Mr Clifford.
The retired boatbuilder put his construction skills to the test by making a sleigh for Santa out of plyboard.
The sleigh is pulled along by a giant reindeer familiar to Truro residents who used to appear annually on Trafalgar roundabout.
“The council was going to throw him away and Bernie Beal salvaged him from the skip,” said Mr Clifford.
The tree outside the Clifford house contains 1,080 bulbs with the entire display consisting of many thousands more.
Mr Clifford said his neighbours were pleased to be a part of the Christmas festivities.
“They don’t mind at all,” he said. “There are no Christmas scrooges out here.”
