Varied programme at South East Cornwall Walking Festival
The South East Cornwall Walking Festival returns next week, with a week-long programme of walks to suit all ages and abilities.
The festival begins on Saturday September 15 with a walk around Duloe, ending at the Duloe Beer and Cider Festival.
"It's possibly the only walk that nobody minds if it finishes early!" said festival organiser Mark Camp, adding that the festival provides a great way to explore the countryside as well as meeting like-minded walkers.
The festival has been running for more than a decade and this year, once again, the team at Looe Tourist Information Centre have put together a varied schedule offering something for everyone.

This year will also see three events run by the newly formed Looe Marine Conservation Group. They will aim to show walkers what can be found the Cornish coastline, from seaweed to starfish. These walks will not involve too much in the way of walking and are suitable for all ages.
And the work of the Caradon Hill Area Heritage Project will be on show on Wednesday 19 when Iain Rowe leads a walk from Minions.
As well as looking at the conservation work that has been done to the mining remains in the area, the walk will also be a celebration of the life of festival friend and walker Bo Foaks, who died recently.
Although the walk leaders have all agreed to guide the walks for free, a donation of at least £4 towards a charity of the leader's choice is suggested.
Thanks to last year's walkers a donation of £235 was recently presented to Cornwall Wildlife Trust for work they are carrying out in the West Looe Valley.
There is no need to book for any walk but participants can ring Looe Tourist Information Centre on 01503 262 072 to give the leaders an idea of who to expect.
