Vibrant holiday guide is a reminder of famous resort in all its 1960s glory
While the fashions and cost might have changed over the years, the summer delights of Newquay remain the same.
This colourful guide thought to have been published in the 1960s shows why the popular Cornish resort has proved such a hit with holiday-makers over the years.
The Pentire Hotel features prominently in the pages of the aptly named Newquay Town Guide, boasting television, central heating and a lift – all for between 12 and 22 guineas.
Along with a list of beaches to frequent, the book also includes details of flights into Newquay airport.

A guest who recently visited the hotel for the first time since the early 1960s gave the chunky tome to co-owner Iain MacTaggart, who has run the hotel since 2005.
Mr MacTaggart, 55, said: "The guide has no date on it so we are only guessing it's from the early 1960s because that's when our guest was last here.
"I think the illustrations are photographs which have then been painted over in the most wonderful, vivid colours.
"They have a similar feel to the posters the railways used to use to entice visitors to jump on board."
He added: "It really shows how the town has changed over the past 50 years.
"A lot of the hotels have either changed names or disappeared altogether and attractions have come and gone. You have to remember, before the overseas holiday explosion, places in the UK like Newquay were phenomenally popular with the rest of the country.
"And because there was no motorway to make it easier for holidaymakers to drive down, by the time families arrived at Newquay they felt as if they had travelled overseas because it took so long.
"The guide makes flying down to Newquay look very glamorous, which of course it was in those days."
He said of the guide: "I think it's a lovely snapshot of old Newquay and we're delighted to have it."
