Video conferencing adds to distance learning
A new course which helps people trace their family tree without having to set foot inside a classroom is being launched by Devon County Council.
The online, distance learning course uses digital conferencing technology to give the learner support from a tutor.
Russell Robshaw, course tutor, said, it could help people learn a lot about their ancestry.
"The online course allows anyone with access to a suitable computer and the internet to attend live tutored sessions with other people, from the comfort of their own home, where they can watch demonstrations, ask questions and conduct their own research into their past."
