Visitors sink their teeth into apple day festivities
A bumper crop of Westcountry apples were on display at the Kehelland Horticultural Station, near Camborne, on Saturday.
More than 100 varieties hailing from Cornwall and the South West were available at the annual apple day held to celebrate the humble fruit and raise awareness of the Kehelland Trust, which works with people with learning difficulties.
Bonnie Brofos, from the trust, said it was a hugely successful event, the eighth year it has been staged.
"We had more than 2,000 people through the gate in what was our best apple day ever," she said.

"Everyone had a great day.
"There were over 100 varieties of apple, which is incredible considering the few varieties that you see in most supermarkets.
"What is even more amazing is that all the varieties were from Cornwall or the Westcountry.
"I must admit that I hadn't heard of 90 per cent of them. I didn't know there were that many."
