Volunteers sought for St Wenn tree planting
A FIVE-year project to create a community woodland in St Wenn is coming to fruition thanks to the help of local people including schoolchildren.
This the last year of the tree-planting programme at Enigma Wood and volunteers are sought to plant 500 saplings on Sunday, March 3.
The woodland project was devised by St Wenn resident Jane Inge, who has advised volunteers to bring their wellies and a picnic for the planting.
Mrs Inge said: "Already St Wenn and St Breock school pupils, along with St Minver Brownies and Bodmin Air Training Cadets have done their bit this year, and there are 500 saplings of willows, alders, hornbeams, oaks and a few rowans, crab apples, wild pears and hazels to plant.
