Vote for 'branding' design which best promotes town
SIX new designs aimed at promoting Helston have been revealed.
The "branding" designs will be in local shops for the public to vote on.
They have come via town centre manager Jonathan Birkett and Helston traders.
At the unveiling, Councillor Andrew Wallis said he had mixed views on the designs, adding: "I have to say, before you see the pictures, the designs do not jump out and say 'Helston'.

"But what do I know about branding?"
He said whichever one was chosen would become the official Helston brand logo.
"These designs did result in a very interesting debate on why these were chosen, why the more traditional or more well-known brands of Helston did not make the final six.
"I am sure everyone will have their own opinion, and that is what the traders' association is hoping for, as you will be able to vote for your favourite by going into the various shops in Helston."
The winning design will be launched alongside a new business guide at a Helston Business Improvement Partnership event next month.
In his most recent report to Helston Town Council, Mr Birkett said the project had been well received.
"The decision to involve all aspects of our community has reaped rewards."
He also said a "three little words" initiative, in which people were asked to sum up their feelings for the town, had drawn more than 1,000 submissions.
"A full marketing campaign plan will also be developed in the autumn and winter by the (traders') group ready for 2013."
He and the business improvement partnership are also developing a town website, which will be launched in the next few months.
