Davidstow Cheddar is offering people the chance to win a very special trip to Hell Bay on the Isles of Scilly in celebration of their 60th anniversary and the launch of new Cornish Classic and Cornish Crackler.

Like a master winemaker, it has taken six decades of dedication, learning and love to perfect the art of cheese making, the Davidstow way. To celebrate this milestone, What’s on has been running a photography competition in conjunction with Davidstow allowing you the chance to capture your favourite ‘Cornish Point of View’.

Judges for the competition include Nathan Outlaw, one of the region’s finest chefs who has created a delicious collection of traditional Cornish recipes using Davidstow cheddar and Mark Pitts-Tucker, Davidstow’s head Cheese Grader. They have whittled down six finalists from a host of fabulous entries.

Nathan Outlaw comments: “With such a good response, short listing has been a tough call. The standard of the entries has been impressive. There are some great amateur photographers in the country who have really captured Cornwall’s classic scenes.”

Mark Pitts Tucker added: “We chose six finalists based on how their images encapsulated the county’s landscape or summed up Cornishness. Cornwall is famed for its beauty but we were also looking for photos that were fun and a little different. ”

The six finalists are:

Bob Morgan – Godrevy Beach

Chris Turner – Surfer at Perranporth

Clement Lang – The Fal from Trelissick

David Oldcorn – On the tide

Lawrey Anstis – Newquay Harbour

Louise Snelson - Sennen

The winning photographer will be treated to three nights’ stay for 2 people at the award winning Hell Bay Hotel on Bryher on the Isles of Scilly.

Situated to the west of this naturally rugged and beautiful island, this luxury hotel, set in extensive private ground, is a must-visit, with friendly staff, outstanding views and the perfect atmosphere to re-charge your batteries.

Take time to unwind from the stresses of the mainland and relax amongst the stunning scenery, indulge in the gourmet delights on offer and simply enjoy the peace and tranquility. The Hell Bay Hotel offers you informality, privacy and seclusion for the ultimate getaway!
