Vote in the What's On awards

RATHER frighteningly it's already that time of the year – when I ask you to vote in the What's On Music Awards, writes Lee Trewhela.

For the past couple of years I've invited musicians, promoters, band managers, producers and journalists to vote for their musical highlights of the year in Cornwall.

The singular talents of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, pictured at The Acorn, Penzance, top, and Blur's Graham Coxon, above, who played Falmouth's Princess Pavilion, are among What's On's highlights of the year. Kezia's, left, reputation has grown even more so since taking the best female title last year.

This year I'm opening it up to readers too.

Among the winners last year were the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth, Bunters in Truro, Crowns, Everything Burns, Boardmasters, Ruarri Joseph, Kezia, PJP Band, Flaming Lips, Ben Howard, Adam Ant and promoter Frank Pellow of Dueling Kazoos.

Obviously, if Alt-J at the Princess Pavilion, Falmouth, and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy at The Acorn, Penzance, don't figure I will be scrapping the whole affair ….
