Warship guides vessel through Hormuz Strait
A Plymouth-based warship has helped one of the Royal Navy's biggest ships navigate a busy, narrow waterway. HMS Montrose ensured helicopter and commando carrier HMS Illustrious got through the Strait of Hormuz between the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. It is the only sea passage from the Persian Gulf to the open ocean and is one of the world's most strategically important choke points, carrying a fifth of global petroleum.
