The Big Sing has been postponed due to the bad weather and strong winds that are forecast to hit the South West this weekend.

Organisers of the midsummer community event have made the decision to defer the evening which was due to take place at Watergate Bay on Friday 15 June 2012.

Cornwall Youth Dance Company performing "Haul Away" choreographed Sally Williams and Helen Tiplady at The Big Sing, held at Watergate Bay on Tuesday 21st June 2011.

Will Ashworth, managing director of Watergate Bay Hotel and the Extreme Academy said: “It is such a shame that we have had to postpone this year’s Big Sing, but having looked at the weather forecast the predicted gales and heavy rain wouldn’t be much fun for anyone.”

The public event is free to attend and involves numerous choirs, schools and dance groups from across the county.
