NEW e-commerce websites should help create a turnover of more than £1 million for a Redruth-based firm by the end of this year.

Dash (South West), which also has a base in Taunton, new business-to-business sites will be developed with Truro-based design company Creative Edge.

The new dashsw.co.uk will give customers a clear insight into the company's range of services plus job vacancies, with dashnewsdirect.co.uk enabling more than 1,500 newsagents across the South West to communicate with the firm.

The business already operates dash4it.co.uk and dash4yourshop.co.uk, which were also set up by Creative Edge.

Distribution

Stephen Dash, managing director, said: "Creative Edge's work has proved invaluable to our business in developing what is and continues to be an increasingly successful side to our business – investing into e-commerce, retail and online logistics.

"We continue to go from strength to strength with the newspaper distribution business winning new contracts and expanding our market share.

"However, it's crucial to keep an eye on the industry and other markets, making sure we are prepared for the future."

The family firm was established 82 years ago with a single horse and cart and delivered newspapers in West Cornwall.

It has become one of the biggest independent printed media distributors and the biggest seller of Ordnance Survey maps online apart from Ordnance Survey's website itself.
