CALLINGTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE sixth form students handed over a charity cheque for £2,000 after organising a successful Rag Week.

The students gave the cash to Judy Pride from Children's Hospice South West to put towards the new Little Harbour Hospice at Porthpean.

A college spokeswoman said: "Judy gave the students, along with staff members Alan Yendell and Rag Week organiser Carolyn Woodman, a tour of the new facility which has recently opened and already welcomed its first patients.

"The students were really pleased with their fundraising efforts.

"But after seeing the hospice first hand they are now planning their next fundraising activities."
