“I am incredibly proud to have been given the chance to lead the police force in the county where I grew up and have returned to live,” he said.

“We have an incredibly dedicated group of officers and staff working to make Cornwall a safe and happy place to live, work and socialise.

“There is a lot of innovative policing happening within our communities and, historically, public sector organisations, especially in the west of the county have worked well together for the people we serve.

“I look forward to that continuing.”
