RESIDENTS are being urged to attend a public exhibition by an energy company that will outline its plans for a solar farm near Summercourt.

The presentation by Elgin Energy will take place on Thursday, January 31, at Summercourt memorial hall, School Road, from 5pm until 8pm.

The plans are for Burthy Farm – east of the B3275 road.

    “Doesn't Summercourt already have 2 solar farms, how many do they need? Presumably our council seem to think we will all be able to eat electricity rather than actual food. The carbon footprint of importing food is massive.

    I also have to question, can anyone actually remember any reasonable period of sunshine in this county because I'm struggling to recall the last full week of sunshine we had.”
