Witness appeal after New Year's day attack on teenager in Callington

Police have appealed for witnesses after an attack on a teenager in a Cornish town on New Year's Day. The 17-year-old victim, who lives in Callington, was left with grazes, sprains and a swollen knee after three men engaged him in conversation before assaulting him. The incident, details of which have only just been released, happened at around 2.45pm, as the teenager walked along an isolated path near to Portmellon Gardens in the town. The three suspects are all aged 18 to 19. Anyone with information is urged to call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 5551111.
