Woman dies from injuries following collision in Camborne

A woman has died as a result of injuries sustained during a collision in Camborne.

The woman, a pedestrian in her sixties, died in the Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) in Truro on Saturday.

Formal identification has not yet taken place, although her family has been informed.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, which occurred in Dolcoath Avenue at around 4.50pm on Thursday, to come forward.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “A red Vauxhall Astra was leaving the council car park and was in collision with a pedestrian.

“The pedestrian became trapped under the car and needed to be released by the fire service.

“The pedestrian was taken to Treliske hospital with multiple injuries. “

The road was closed for around six hours while police carried out investigations of the scene.
