Woman mugged in Newquay chased her attackers
A WOMAN who was mugged in Newquay during the early hours of New Year's Day chased her attackers and verbally challenged them from a distance.
The 26-year-old female from the resort was walking alone through a lane between Station Approach and Tolcarne Road when she was attacked from behind by two males around 2.45am.

The thieves grabbed her shoulder bag, but she resisted and was pushed to the ground, injuring her in the process.
The muggers then run off with the bag, but the young woman chased the two males, who ran across Cliff Road, and she verbally challenged them from a distance as they rummaged through the bag at the foot of Tolcarne Beach.

The males subsequently walked off leaving the bag behind but took some items from inside including a Sony Xperia mobile phone, bank and credit cards, tobacco and a small amount of cash. The thieves then headed towards Towan Beach.
The woman suffered cuts and bruises to her hand, ankle and knees during the incident.
