Wood fired hot tubs can make you feel so wild
The odd and slightly surreal sight of bathers apparently in a giant tea cup could become more and more common around the Westcountry.
But rather than experiencing an Alice in Wonderland-style hallucination, onlookers will actually be witnessing the brainchild of two brothers, from Devon.

So far, the warming baths have been placed on beaches, castles, rooftops, gardens and even a lighthouse.

Sam Thorogood, who is behind the scheme with brother Jamie, both from near Slapton, said: "It is the most simple way to make people feel good. Most people feel good being in a warm bath though we never anticipated how well it would work on the beach."
The pair tested the hot tub at Slapton last week with the South Devon wild swimming group turning out in force to give it their support.
The DutchTub has been around for decades in one form or another, but the latest design, which is by Floris Schoonderbeek of The Netherlands, has become, some say, the must-have hot tub for the 21st century.
Its lightweight structure and new heating system makes it mobile and easily transportable.
A wood-fired heater warms up to 200 gallons of cold water in just two hours up to a comfortable 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once the perfect temperature has been achieved, it can be maintained by altering the height of the fire basket from the pipe spiral.
Sam says the launch event saw people filling the tub with buckets of sea water, an hour- and-a-half-long job.
"At the moment we are just putting it out there to see how people enjoy it," Sam added.
"It is just the beginning and we are trying to find the best way to put it into the marketplace."

“This is an utterly pointless thing, with no benefit to anyone except, possibly, pleasure. I love it!”
